Our governance

The foundation proposes an original governance model bringing together members of the founding association, the CNRS Foundation as well as qualified personalities. This specificity allows the governance of the foundation to enrich itself with different points of view and expertise in order to best develop its projects.

The foundation is placed under the authority of a strategic council composed of nine members. It meets at least once a year and it is composed of the following members:

  • Dr. Laetitia Hédouin

    PRESIDENT OF THE FOUNDATION

    FOUNDING MEMBER

    Laetitia Hedouin is president of the Science4Reefs Foundation, where she leads innovative efforts for coral reef conservation. Holder of a PhD in marine biology from the University of Montpellier, she is recognized for her research on coral resilience to climate change. With an internationally distinguished career, she combines scientific expertise and passion for reef preservation, guiding the foundation towards innovative and sustainable solutions and increased awareness.

  • Dr. Serge Planes

    FOUNDING MEMBER

    Serge Planes is a world-renowned marine biologist, specializing in coral reef research. CNRS research director, he has greatly contributed to the understanding of biodiversity and resilience of marine ecosystems. Involved in the ICRI, the International Coral Reef Initiative, it participates in the state of health of coral reefs at the global level and its pioneering work influences policies for conservation and sustainable management of oceans.

  • Laurent Ritter

    FOUNDING MEMBER

    General director of the company Voodoo and founder of the endowment fund O, he supports innovative and transformative projects for the maintenance of terrestrial and marine biodiversity, but also for social and environmental justice.

  • Pete West & Anna Kozlova

    FFOUNDER OF BIOQUEST STUDIOS

    Pete West and Anna Kozlova are two marine enthusiasts with a unique way of filming and capturing striking images of marine ecosystems, including coral reefs. Pete, recognized for his technical mastery in underwater cinematography and Anna for her expertise in visual production, bring an immersive perspective that enchants and educates the audience about the beauty and complexity of underwater life. Their visions and commitments to marine conservation are reflected in the projects of BioQuest Studios, which highlight the fragility and importance of marine ecosystems. In 2022, their talent was internationally recognized thanks to an Emmy Award obtained for their documentary "Puff, Wonders of the Reefs".
